The Croatian national futsal team coach, Marinko Mavrović, announced the list of players for the upcoming qualifying matches for the European Championship against Greece (April 11, Varaždin) and Azerbaijan (April 15, Baku).
The following players were on Mavrović’s list: Ante Piplica (Futsal Dinamo), Vinko Rozga (Olmissum), Nikola Čizmić (Hajduk), Dean Moravac (Stanoinvest Futsal Pula), Duje Kustura (Olmissum), Luka Perić (Bubamara Cazin), Kristian Čekol (Futsal Dinamo), Marko Kuraja (Torcida), Niko Vukmir (Stanoinvest Futsal Pula), David Mataja (Stanoinvest Futsal Pula), Josip Jurlina (Olmissum), Antonio Sekulić. (Anderlecht), Nikola Gudasić (Dinamo Futsal), David Barbarić (Olmissum), Jakov Hrstić (Torcida).
Gabrijel Lasić (Novo Vrijeme), Patrik Pasariček (Futsal Dinamo), and Mateo Mužar (Futsal Dinamo) received invitations.
The national team will gather on April 7 in Velika Gorica and travel to Varaždin. There, they will prepare for the match that will be played on April 11 at 7 p.m. in Arena Varaždin. The day after the match, they will fly to Baku, where they will face Azerbaijan on April 15.
Unfortunately, for these matches, we are without captain Franco Jelovčić, who will be absent due to family reasons, that is, without Kristijan Postružin due to an injury. The new players in the squad are David Barbarić, who earned the right to play for the Croatian national team after receiving the green light from Fifa, Jakov Hrstić, who continuously provides good games for Torcida, and goalkeeper Vinko Rozga. We are in a comfortable situation, in the event of a draw with Greece in Varaždin, and we will mathematically secure a place at the Euros. Still, I have repeatedly emphasized that our goal is to end this qualifying cycle with a 100% performance. We are the favorites in both games, but we must confirm this with maximum engagement on the field – Marinko Mavrović, Croatia Head Coach
