PLAYERS ON THE LEVEL BEFORE THE NATIONAL TEAM MEETING

Luka Modrić assisted, Vlašić and Budimir scored, and Kovačić was a double-scorer

The Croatian football team captain, Luka Modrić, once again played a key role in Real Madrid’s success. Real Madrid overcame Villarreal 2:0 in the ninth round of the Spanish football championship, and Vatreni captain Luka Modrić played until stoppage time when Lucas replaced him.

Already in the 14th minute, Modrić assisted Valverde’s great goal and then again provided a masterful game—including three key passes, 88 percent accurate passes with more than a hundred touches—and was among the best-rated players in the match. Vinicius Junior confirmed Real Madrid’s victory in the 73rd minute.

Upon his return to the football fields, Nikola Vlašić again left his mark on the matches of his Torino. Torino visited Inter in the seventh round of Serie A, who won 3:2 with a hat-trick from Thuram, and Zapata scored the first goal for Torino in the 36th minute.

In the 86th minute, just two minutes after entering the game, Nikola Vlašić took advantage of the opportunity from the penalty spot and set the final result. Last week, he assisted against Lazio, and his Torino is in sixth place on the table. Borna Sosa stayed at Inter among his team’s reserves.

National striker Ante Budimir shook the net of Getafe for Osasuna’s away league draw. Getafe hosted Osasuna in the ninth round of La Liga, and the hosts took the lead with a goal by Yildirim in the 21st minute of the match. Ante Budimir leveled the score after an hour of play with a lovely, well-measured shot to the opposite side of the opponent’s net.

It was his fourth goal in his last four appearances, including two last week in the win over leaders Barcelona. Budimir played the entire 90 minutes with excellent marks.

Vatreni midfielder Mateo Kovačić was Manchester City‘s hero in the league victory against Fulham (3:2). Fulham took the lead through Pereira in the 26th minute away from Manchester City. Still, just six minutes later, Mateo Kovačić tied the score at 1:1 with a ten-meter shot.

At the very beginning of the second half, Kovačić entered the scene again: with a lovely goal from the edge of the penalty area, he made it 2:1. In the end, Doku increased it to 3:1, and Muniz reduced it to the final 3:2, with Kovačić and Joško Gvardiol also playing the entire match. Kovačić was then selected as the best player of the game. In the Premiership table, second-placed Manchester City trails leaders Liverpool by one point.
